Affinité Science · Case Study
“The systems Futurefy built have tripled our organic leads, increased our close rate by 1.7x, removed an entire call from our sales funnel, and helped our technical team ship features five times faster.”
The Labs They Serve
When the world's top research institutions need precision binding data, they call Affinité.
Affinité's technology is used by research teams at leading universities, hospitals, and biotech labs in more than fifteen countries.

The Client
Affinité Science is the parent company of two scientific brands, Affinité Instruments and Affibio Analytics, founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Université de Montréal. Their patented lensless Surface Plasmon Resonance platform has been cited in over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is used by research labs in more than 15 countries, including teams at UC Berkeley, McGill, the University of Liverpool, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Their sister brand, Affibio Analytics, delivers the same SPR expertise as a service to labs that prefer outsourced analysis. Two companies, one scientific mission, one commercial challenge: making precision binding analysis accessible to every researcher who needs it.
The Relationship
Three phases. One compounding partnership.
Visibility
Website rebuild and SEO foundation
Intelligence
Lead qualification and routing system
Velocity
AI adoption framework and team training
Each phase delivered a measurable outcome. Each outcome set up the next.
Before Futurefy, Affinité and Affibio had separate websites, inconsistent messaging, and almost no organic search presence. In a niche scientific instrument category where a single qualified lead can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in instrument sales or multi-year service contracts, being invisible to researchers searching for SPR solutions was quietly costing the business real money.
Futurefy rebuilt both sites from the ground up, unified the brand architecture, and built a technical SEO foundation designed for both traditional search engines and AI-powered research tools. Within months, Affinité and Affibio were ranking on the first page of Google for the keywords their target researchers actually search.
The second phase started with an audit. Futurefy looked at how leads moved through Affinité's sales process and found a specific friction that was costing the business real money. Academic and biotech researchers are funded by grants with strict rules about what the money can be spent on. A lab with a capital equipment grant can buy an instrument but cannot pay for services. A lab with a services grant can hire Affibio but cannot buy hardware.
Leads were coming in for one product when their funding would have been better matched to the other, and by the time a human sales rep caught the mismatch, the opportunity had often cooled. Futurefy built an intelligent lead qualification system that captures each inbound lead's research protocol, funding source, and project context, reasons across both companies' offerings, and routes the lead to the correct sales team with a pre-qualified brief.
Routing was only half the problem. Many of the researchers who could benefit most from Affinité's SPR technology were not SPR specialists. They ran endpoint assays like ELISA, western blots, and cell-based experiments, and they needed help understanding how real-time binding data connected to what they were actually measuring at the bench. Futurefy built Sparq Bio, an AI platform that helps non-SPR researchers connect real-time binding data to the endpoint assays they already run at the bench, removing the expertise barrier that had quietly been limiting Affinité's addressable market for years.
Affinité's small technical team was always building. New data analysis algorithms for new kinds of experiments. New software features for new lab workflows. New integrations for the instruments they ship to customers around the world.
The team knew AI could help them move faster but didn't know where to start or how to integrate it systematically without breaking the rigor their scientific users depend on. Futurefy audited their development processes, identified the workflows with the highest leverage for AI augmentation, built a custom AI adoption framework specific to a scientific instrument company, and trained the team to use it.
The output is not a tool. It is a way of working. Today, Affinité's team ships new capabilities at five times the rate they did before, with the same team and the same commitment to scientific rigor.
